PITCH REPORT

Carrara Oval  is the famous cricket stadium located in Queensland, Australia. It is owned and operated by the Queensland’s cricket association operated by Cricket Australia. It serves as the home ground for the Brisbane Heat team. This ground is totally new for International matches and did not play any international match on this ground. But this pitch is used for many big bash matches.

Carrara Oval Ground is one of the newest grounds in the domestic cricket world which is operated by the Australia Cricket Board. It has a seating capacity of 20000 and has hosted 17 Big Bash Matches.

Overall, Carrara Oval Ground holds a significant place in Men’s Big Bash cricket history and continues to be a prominent venue for domestic and international cricket matches in Queensland.

This pitch has served 17 matches of  Men’s Big Bash League and in 17 matches 8 times the first batting team won the match and 09 times second batting won the match. So toss is not an important role for this match.

Carrara Oval’s pitch is balanced for both departments. But in the 17 matches we have seen only 4 times 170+ score so we can see again an average scoring match between Adelaide Strikers & Brisbane Heat. The last Big Bash season witnessed the batting first side scored 152 runs by Sydney Sixers and that was successfully defended by Sydney Sixers Team. However, the ground does have huge straight boundaries ranging 73 metres long. The square boundaries’ size reads 68-70 metres. This suggests that hitting sixes on this ground requires power, making it risky to go for the aerial route.

In the initial overs, the bowling side needs to maintain a tight line and length, aiming to secure early breakthroughs to restrict the opponent to a low score. It is clear that the pacers will get a good amount of help with the new ball, and they will trouble the batters. The outfield here is quite fast, and the boundaries are not that big as well so batsmen can easily pass the boundary and score runs. In 17 matches played on this ground 8 matches batting 1st won and 9 matches won by 2nd batting.
